Enhance the natural resonance of your acoustic instrument with the GHS internal mount Soundhole Mic preamp system.
This innovative system allows you to electrify your acoustic guitar by employing an attached microphone that not only preserves the instrument's tone but also amplifies the inherent ambiance of its soundhole cavity.
The system features a flexible goose neck mount, providing you with the ability to adjust and position the microphone precisely at your guitar's sweet spot, ensuring optimal natural sound and characteristics.
General Information: The A137 utilizes a unidirectional mic with a narrow reception pattern, allowing for precise tone control. The white dot on the windscreen indicates the active side of the mic.
Battery: Powered by a single AA battery, the battery should be changed annually. The jack functions as a switch, activating the battery when a plug is inserted. Ensure to loosen the strings and remove the Soundhole MicTM before replacing the battery.
PA Systems & Acoustic Amps: When connecting to a P.A. board or acoustic amp, using the XLR mic input often yields the best sound. If using a mono cable, connect to the XLR input if experiencing weak signals.
Guitar Amps and Transformers: The Soundhole MicTM is compatible with all guitar amps, and using an Impedance Matching Transformer with the PC-1 cable may enhance performance.
R.F. Interference: To prevent R.F. interference, create 2 small loops along the length of the output cable.
To accommodate the output jack, enlarge the hole along its entire length with a 1/2" tapered reamer. Tighten the strap button-locknut from outside the instrument, adjusting the hex nut on the output jack based on the tailblock's thickness.
Controlling Feedback: Utilize acoustic amps or P.A. systems for optimal performance. XLR input often provides the best results, and equalization, soundhole covers, and mic placement can help control feedback.

GHS A137
It's amazing for a natural acoustic sound. Like having a mic out front. I'm looking for another one or two.
